1 Corinthians 3:16 (MSG)
You realize, don’t you, that you are the temple of God, and God himself is present in you? No one will get by with vandalizing God’s temple, you can be sure of that. God’s temple is sacred—and you, remember, are the temple.

Faith in Healing

January 28th, 2010

There is not a day that goes by without knowing that God has healed and delivered me from sickness and disease. He has been the ultimate physician and when fear sets in; I remind myself of the miracles He has done in my life.

I have received unfavorable test results in various ways possible and the word cancer has been used more times in my medical history than anyone would prefer. By the miracle of God he removes impurities and fear. By faith in his omnipotence we can be delivered from fear, disease, anxiety and plagues. In the gospels, we read the story of the hemorrhaging woman who has so much faith that she knows if she can only touch Jesus’ coat she will be healed. She moves through the crowd and touches Jesus and she instantly stops hemorrhaging. Faith is a powerful tool and can defeat anything this world or Satan throws in your direction.

It would not be true if I told you I understood exactly how he works these miracles because I certainly do not have the answer for how his sovereignty is dispersed, but by faith I believe in his invisible hand. It is by this faith that the tears stop rolling and a sense of peace and comfort takes its place.

There is more healing power from God than just physical healing. God restores our broken hearts and brings understanding for the mourning. There was a time in my life when I lost a baby and thought that I would wake up in the morning full of rage and hate; but instead, I woke up with a love for God even more than before. He brought me the healing and the comfort that was required for my situation.

I remember being fearful about how I would feel towards God and prayed and prayed to feel his love during my time of loss and he delivered. He always delivers on His promises. “My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life.” Psalms 119:50.

It is by faith and the blood of Jesus that we are healed. God lives and he is actively involved in our daily lives. He answers prayers and hears our cry and he shows compassion. We may not always receive exactly what we ask for, but he does provide what we need and you can be certain in this…if it is comfort you seek, you shall find comfort in Christ. This is an amazing component of having faith. ‘Faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see,’ Hebrews 11:1.

2 Corinthians 1:5-7 (NIV), “For just as the sufferings of Christ flow over into our lives, so also through Christ our comfort overflows. If we are distressed, it is for your comfort and salvation; if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which produces in you patient endurance of the same sufferings we suffer. And our hope for you is firm, because we know that just as you share in our sufferings, so also you share in our comfort.”
